Quang Nam has just approved the proposal of two new industrial park projects in Thang Binh District in the model of eco-industrial parks with a total area of 725 hectares.
Building an industrial park in the west of the motorway through Thang Binh District
According to the proposal, a 400-hectare industrial park will be built by WHA Corporation PCL in the west of the motorway through Thang Binh.
The project will focus on building and developing an eco-industrial park with environment-friendly industries using advanced technology with great added value.
It is expected to attract industries in accordance with the Quang Nam orientation of investment attraction, including the automobile industry, mechanical engineering, electricity, electronics, telecommunications, healthcare, high-tech industry, advanced manufacturing, and logistics.
Project on the Southern Thang Binh industrial park
Another project is the Southern Thang Binh industrial park, proposed by BIN Corporation Group.
The project satisfies the provincial conditions of space, location, and goals.
The Southern Thang Binh industrial park will run as an eco-industrial park, attracting environmentally friendly manufacturing industries using advanced technology with high added value.
The projects attracted to the Southern Thang Binh industrial park have to be consistent with the investment attraction orientation of Quang Nam province.
The Southern Thang Binh industrial park will be part of the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone. The first phase of the project will be built on an area of about 325 hectares.
Reportedly, in the early months of 2024, there were 175 newly founded enterprises with a total registered capital of over VND631 billion in Quang Nam. Among them were two FDI projects with a total registered capital of USD19.5 million. Till now, there are 195 FDI projects with a total capital of USD6.1 billion and 1138 local projects with over VND225 thousand billion in investment capital in Quang Nam.
Priority for the circular economy
According to the provincial approved master plan for the period of 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050, Quang Nam will develop industry towards a circular economy with high specialisation and automation, increasing the portion of processing and manufacturing industry, making it the main pillar in the economy.
At the same time, the province will promote the development of the automobile manufacturing and assembly industry, mechanical, electrical, and electronic products.
Quang Nam will set up a national multi-purpose mechanical and automobile centre, and develop supporting industries associated with seaport, airport, and railway logistics services.
The province is also fostering the construction of the Central Gas Power Centre associated with the industries using energy and post-gas products in the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, creating new momentum for provincial and regional development.
Quang Nam will give priority to hi-tech industrial parks in order to attract more industries with high intellectual content, automation, high added value, and large budget contributions towards sustainable development.
The provincial master plan also mentions building industrial clusters in rural and mountainous areas in order to solve the problems of local labour resources and raw materials.
