(QNO) - The process of digital transformation in the management of the World's Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An biosphere reserve begins with the digitization of biodiversity data.
The Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An reserve's electronic control system was formally put into use on May 15, 2018.
Installed at Cua Dai wharf, the system consists of seven gates that accept three different card types. Dark blue is used for those who pay a 100% entrance fee; gold is 50% off, and red is free. Residents of Tan Hiep island commune (Cu Lao Cham) are completely free.
The biosphere reserve is required to digitise its biodiversity data, which will make it easier to gather, access, enhance, and augment existing information.
A World Wildlife Fund assessment conducted in Vietnam found that the Cham Islands are home to 624 different fauna and flora species (418 branches, 130 families).
The findings are invaluable scientific information that supports the establishment of a natural reserve on the Cham Islands by assisting in the development of sustainable preservation and management strategies.
In addition to using the smart travel software effectively, Hoi An is undertaking digital transformation and creating a database of the marine protection area and the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An biosphere reserve in 2024.
